A follower of Jesus Christ, wife of Michael, mother to Jacob (who is in Heaven) and Raleigh (she is 20 years old as of 12/30/09). Michael and I had a marriage filled with its ups and downs over 23 years, but mostly it was up. Seven weeks after our 23rd wedding anniversary, our son Jacob, who was a freshman in college, was killed in a car accident on his way back to campus after a weekend visit at home. We were a happy and loving family of four, but life changed forever for our family on September 24, 2006. We have had to figure out how to make sense of life after Jacob's premature departure to Heaven. We don't have it figured out, and we probably never will, but we have learned how to live life well.
